Wallace Kirkwood Myers, Jr.

Wallace K. Myers, Jr., 75, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was born on May 27, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to Wallace Kirkwood Sr. and Viola (Hoffman) Myers.

Wallace was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. He retired from Norfolk Naval Base in 1988, and later worked for NSWC Crane where he was a Sonar Technician and later retired in 2013. He was a member of American Legion Post #196 Bloomfield.

Wally enjoyed building and playing with his Lionel Train sets, attending Lionel Conventions, talking trains to anyone who wanted to listen and starting way too many projects at one time. He was an ardent man cave enthusiast, owning several scattered across the home he shared with his loving wife.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lynn Myers whom he married December 27, 1983; his children, Wallace K. Myers III of Houston, Texas and Joye Danielle Myers of Indianapolis; one younger sister, Jan Niskala and a younger brother, William Myers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Masks (Face Coverings) will be required and a maximum of 50 people will be allowed in the building at any one time.

There will be no public funeral services.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
