Walker Winslow Townsend, 76, of Bloomfield, passed away with family at bedside on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington.

Mr. Townsend was born March 27, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the son of Theodore Noyse Townsend & Eleanor Frances Townsend.

Mr. Townsend was a high school graduate of Park High School and shortly thereafter, he attended Hanover College for a brief time before he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Mr. Townsend was mainly self-employed in the photography field and was a member of the amateur radio club. Mr. Townsend continued the Keeney family tradition by being involved in a wide range of philanthropic causes administered by the Buffalo Foundation and HSBC Trust Department.

Surviving relatives include: two sons, Theodore Townsend (Brittany) and Robert Townsend (Taylor); one daughter, Cassie Townsend; his grandchildren.

Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his parents, one great aunt, Elinor Townsend formerly of LeRoy, New York, one brother, John Townsend formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, one sister, Elizabeth Townsend/Holman formerly of Huston, Texas and a grandson, Justin Strongram of Nashville, Indiana.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Pastor Micah Stephen officiating.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
