Virginia Sue Rose Puckett

Virginia Sue Rose (Brown) Puckett, 98, of Linton, Indiana, passed peacefully to Heaven, on Monday, October 5, 2020 at her residence at Autumn Trace. She was born on June 13, 1922 in Linton to Edgar and Sophia (Peltier) Colbert.

Sue married Ernest ‘Brownie’ Brown on December 24, 1938 and after his passing, she married Leslie Puckett on October 18, 1984.

Sue was a member of the Glenburn United Methodist Church and attended the Nine Mile United Methodist Church. She was a 68 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #140. Sue was an Avon Representative since 1974 and met many friends over the years.

Family left to cherish Sue’s memory include: two daughters, Joyce Elgan of Linton and Carolyn Ballard of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and two daughters-in-law, Connie Weaver of Linton and Irene Moulton of Springfield, MO.

Sue was preceded in death by: her parents; her 1st husband, Ernest Brown; her 2nd husband, Leslie Puckett; two sons, Darrell Joe Brown and John E. Brown; grandson, Billy Joe Brown; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to honor Sue’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Ken Coffman officiating. Sue will be laid to rest beside her first husband, Ernest Brown, in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Following CDC guidelines, face masks will be required and continue with social distancing please.
