Virginia Frye, age 77, of Switz City, passed away at 11:10 am on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville. She was born in Washington on January 28, 1944, the daughter of Byrad & Gladys (Roll) Pride.

She was a homemaker and loved caring for her family. She enjoyed reading and puzzle books but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James Frye of Switz City; children, Tammy (Mike) Calvert of Lyons, Jeff (Amber) Frye of Switz City and JoAnn Frye of Lyons; grandchildren, Eric (Stefanie) Calvert, Anthony Calvert, Jeremiah Calvert and Morgan Frye; great grandchildren, Elayna Calvert, Alexa Calvert and Zachary Calvert as well as her brother, Bobby (Lynn) Pride.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Kathryn Pride, Ruth Foster and Cynthia Dedrick.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, with Pastor Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will follow at Switz City Cemetery in Switz City.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics- Greene County, Indiana through the funeral home.
