Tim M. Thompson

Tim M. Thompson, 71, of Linton, Indiana passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born on May 12, 1949 in Linton, Indiana the son of Glenn and Lavena Thompson.

Tim served in the US Army, he received his draft papers on his 20th birthday and served his country as military police in Vietnam for 16 months. He was honorably discharged on December 16, 1970. He worked for CSX Railroad for 44 years and in those 44 years he enjoyed his friends and family to no end.

Tim also lived his life with a love of dogs and training them to be man's best friend. Tim in his early life had a love for horses which grew into a love for horsepower. He poured his heart into racing a 1957 Chevy Station Wagon and a 1969 Firebird that he shaved down into a Camaro, and hardly ever lost a race at the track.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents and brother Allen Thompson.

Tim left behind his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy Wainman Thompson, three sons; Jeff Thompson (Jenni) of Lakeland, Florida, Jared Thompson (Katie) of Linton, Indiana and Jordan Thompson (Aubrey) of Linton, Indiana, five grandchildren; Brooke and Allie Thompson, Harlee Keller, Rylee Stoltz and McKinnley Thompson, sister, Dawn Miller of Linton, Indiana and two nephews; Tracy and Barry Miller. He is also survived by his granddog, Buddy who was his closest friend.

A private graveside services will be at Dugger Cemetery with Rev. David Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, Indiana.
