Thomas “Tom” Steele, age 61, of Jasonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his residence after spending a nice afternoon with his loving family. He was born in Linton, IN on September 22, 1961, the son of Robert O “Bob” & Helen (Rowe) Steele.

He was a 1979 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He was a well known photographer around the community for over 30 years and then went to work for Peabody Coal as a coal miner for 8 years. He enjoyed photography, spending time in his workshop doing some woodworking and chainsaw carving as well as gardening. He was a ball cap collector for many years and was proud of his collection. He also loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Corbi (Mowery) Steele of Linton; children, Cassie (Michael) Ross of Linton and Dalton (Crystyn) Steele of Jasonville; grandchildren, Gavin Ross, Camryn Ross, Braxtyn Ross, Aiden Ross, Presley Steele and Gentry Steele; brother, Bob (Jana) Steele as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private services are being observed by Tom”s family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
