Theodora A. "Teddy" Harmon

Theodora A. "Teddy" Harmon, age 85, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 5:58 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Linton, Indiana on August 5, 1940, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Michael) Steinhall.

She graduated from business school in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended Indiana State University. She worked for the Indiana Credit Bureau for ten years and then owned an independent credit bureau for the Linton area for an additional ten years. She and her husband were self-employed accountants for many years. She served on the Greene County Council as a member and later President. She was instrumental in founding and finding funding for the Greene County Humane Society.

Teddy, and her late husband Richard, fostered 56 children. She was a proud life-long supporter of the Democratic Party. She was a life-long devoted member of the Lebanon Baptist Church in Midland.

Teddy is survived by her children, Richard Vaughn (Mehfuza) Harmon, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Jeanee Johnson of Midland, Robert (Deda) Rush of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Rosalie "Lee" Montgomery of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, Richard Vaughn (Laura) Harmon, III, Erica Lynn Harmon, Krista Marie (Daniel) Lyvers, Brook Wilson, Austin (Sami) Rush, Carson Rush, Lily Rush, Richard (Melissa) Montgomery, and Jessica (Michael) Neville; nine great-grandchildren, Aya Harmon, Lucas Stevenson, Ariana Weathers, Teegan Lyvers, Tucker Hadley, Tilly Schlatter, Penelope Rush, Paige Neville, and Peyton Neville; sister, Mary Strong; a sister-in-law, Delores (John) Harmon-Gatton of Louisville, Kentucky; nieces, Karen Demarsh and Dianna Pittman; nephews, Mark and Joe Hutchison; great-nieces, Katie Lane and Beth Wade; and a special cousin, friend, caretaker, Roberta Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Vaughn Harmon in 2024; a great-grandson, Christopher Perez; and a niece, Paula King.

A funeral service to honor Teddy's life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home of Walton Funeral Service in Linton at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
