Elizabeth “Liz” Provo

Elizabeth “Liz” Provo, age 88, of Worthington, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born in Wolcott, IN on May 9, 1934, the daughter of Leroy & Emma (Helderle) Blume.

She was a graduate of Wolcott High School. She was a homemaker for many years raising her children as well as many other children around the neighborhood. Once her children were older she became a cook in the kitchen at White River Valley School in Worthington. She also helped to run the family business, Provo Septic Service, for over 50 years from 1969 up until 2021. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her six boys which made her tough as nails.

Liz is survived by her loving sons, Terry (Karen) Provo of Palm Bay, FL, Gregory Provo of Worthington, Kevin Provo of Worthington, Dennis (Peggy) Provo of Yulee, FL, David (Kimberly) Provo of Worthington and Keith (Candi) Provo of Clay City; grandchildren, Scott Provo, Andy Provo, Chad Provo, Ron Provo, Samantha Mason, Alex Provo, Levi Provo, Heather Starks, Paul White, Brittani Rehmel, Amanda Strange, Dillon Zufall, Keaton Zufall, Nathan Rode and Ryan Rode as well as 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Provo; infant sons, Ronald Provo and Dale Provo as well as her siblings, Verba Schwab, Donna Knochel, Donald Blume and Glenn Blume.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Saturday, December 3, 2022 with Terry and Dennis Provo officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
