Shirley K. King

Shirley K. King, 81, of Linton passed Thursday, September 21, 2023, at her residence with loved ones by her side.

Born September 9, 1942 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the daughter of Frederick L. and Evelyn Mae (Cummings) Carr. Shirley was Married on August 5, 1975.

Shirley graduated from Oolitic High School, was retired from RCA, she graduated from dog grooming school and began her own dog grooming shop from her home. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Stanford, long time member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. Shirley was baptized on May 10, 1992 by Reverend Rodney Wallace. Shirley had a great love for all things nature and animals as well as spending time in her greenhouse. She loved sewing, embroidering, and crocheting.

Surviving relatives include her husband Gerald “Gene” King, children, Gypse Lee Thompson, Joey D. Thompson, Jeania K. Thompson, her grandchildren, Jeania Whaley, Steve Thompson, her great grandchildren, Taylar, Gabriel, Eric, Sebestian and one great granddaughter Julietta, one step son, Steven King, and step grandchildren Zach, Seth, Ben, Corbin, Camie.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Carl Bud Carr, three grandchildren, Jessica Pate, Jonathan Pate, Kyle May, and one step son, Christopher King.

Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until the hour of service on Thursday September 28, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
