Shelby K. Meurer, age 82, of Linton, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Linton, IN on July 23, 1938, the daughter of Waldon Padgett & Delsie (Allen) Padgett.

She was a graduate of Linton Stockton High School. She was a City and County official for most of her life. She was a dedicated politician and cared deeply about her community. She was a life long Democrat from the age of 18.

She was an avid sports fan and was the biggest fan of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cheered them on for every event. She was also a huge Colts fan.

Shelby is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Paul Meurer of Linton; daughter, Jenny (Terry) Graves of Linton; grandsons, Joshewa D. (Leah) Meurer of Newburgh, Tyler Meurer of Linton and Tate (Tiffany) Graves of Linton; Granddaughters, Shelsie Meurer of Linton and Kaylee Graves of Linton; great grandchildren, Espn Graves, Aspen Graves, Easton Graves and Noah Graves.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Paul Meurer; siblings, Delema Fonderhide, Lois Bedwell, Hershal Padgett, John Padgett and Cletus Padgett.

A private funeral service will be observed by the family at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm.

Per State of Indiana requirements, mask must be worn, social distancing will be practiced and only fifty (50) people will be allowed in the facility at any one time.
