Shawn D. Russell, age 58, of Linton, passed away at 5:38 P.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Greene County General Hospital.  He was born in Linton on October 8, 1961, the son of Donald and Carol (Powers) Russell.  

Shawn was a 1979 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.  He began working as a brick layer at S & R for many years.  Shawn married Monica Robison on November 19, 1983, and they have two children.  

Shawn was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton and attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Jasonville.  He enjoyed bass fishing, participating in tournaments at a younger age, family gatherings, Colts and Miner Football, and spending time with his grandchildren.  

He is survived by his wife, Monica Russell of Linton, his mother, Carol Russell of Linton, children, Matthew Russell and Alyssa (Aaron Richards) Russell, six grandchildren, Jaelyn, Easton, Greenleigh "Gigi", Bladen, Ivan, and Daxton, his two brothers, Kevin (Tracey) Russell and Timothy (Lori) Russell, both of Linton, his sister, Heather (Jim) Rollins of Linton, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, and his father and mother-in-law, Bob & Martha Robison.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
