Sharon H. DeVault, age 73, of Terre Haute, formerly Linton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 22, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Washington on August 1, 1947, the daughter of Woodrow and Pauline (Hemmerlein) Hoffman.

Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Loogootee High School. She was a 1969 graduate from Indiana State University. She worked in the insurance for many years, enjoying helping her customers, retiring in 2015.

She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Terre Haute. When living in Linton, she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she played the organ for many years.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 53 years, L. Anthony “Tony” DeVault, two daughters, Julie (Matthew) McNichols and Lora DeVault, both of Terre Haute, five grandchildren, Emilee Hammond, Blake Hammond, Gabe McNichols, Maya McNichols, and Audrey DeVault, a brother, Dale (Jenell) Hoffman of Shoals, two sisters, Donna (Tim) Summers of Franklin and Cathy (Doug) Tarvin of Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton and webcast at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Burial will follow at Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee at 3:00 P.M.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Linton Civitan Clothe-A-Child or Toys-for-Tots, through the funeral home.
