Shane Lee Pruett, age 44, of Worthington, passed away on Sunday morning, October 2, 2022, in Worthington. He was born in Bloomington on December 7, 1977, the son of Gerald L. & Debra A. (VanHorn) Pruett.

Shane worked for 22 years at Force Construction. He was the owner/operator of Pruett Excavating since 2019. He formerly served on the Worthington Fire Department.

Shane loved his work excavating and running heavy equipment. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, farming, and his three dogs.

He is survived by his wife whom he married August 12, 2000, Nancy L. (Cartwright) Pruett; his parents of Worthington; a sister, Michelle (Travis) Strosnider of Worthington; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eva Milligan and Jack Bays; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Burial will follow at Pleasant Bethel Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 P.M., and 10 A.M. until the time of service.
