Sandra Dickens

Sandra Dickens, 74, of Bloomington joined her Lord and savior in Heaven on Monday, September 24, 2018. Sandy was born May 18th, 1944 in Bloomington, Indiana to Helen and Holland Robinson.

She was the middle of six children. Sandy grew up in Bloomington and attended Bloomington High School.

In October 1961, Sandy married the love of her life, George Thomas "Tommy" Dickens. They had three daughters together, but sadly lost one to a car accident in December 1976. They made it through with love and support from family and friends, and strength from one another.

Sandy attended and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 43 years. She worked as a laborer at General Electric for 15 years. Sandy loved spending her free time in the presence of her family.

Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Kimberly (Eugene) Goodman of Bloomington, and Debra Bland of Bloomington. Five siblings: Irvin (Stephanie) Robinson, Phillip (Ruth) Robinson, Jimmy (Lorie) Robinson, Terri Cazee, and Stephen Robinson. Four granddaughters: Amanda Harding, Danielle (Dustin) Dixon, Heather (Billy) Roberts, and Megan Allen. Six great grandsons: Dusty Harding, Elijah Anderson, David Dixon, Dyllon Dixon, Trintin Bland, and Jessy Roberts; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, "Tommy" Dickens, one daughter, Holley Dickens, and one great grandson, Lucas Ricketts.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Tammy Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.

Public visitation will be from 11 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
