Samantha Lynn Jerrell and Colton Alan
Samantha Lynn Jerrell, age 36, and her beloved son Colton Alan, age 14, both of Lyons, left this world to be with their family in Heaven.
Samantha was born on June 22, 1988, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of John D. & Cheri L. (Lawson) Jerrell. She worked as a retail clerk for several years at the Linton post office and was also the owner and operator of Neat Freak Sam Cleaning Service. She was a 2007 graduate of Linton Stockton High School and went on to receive her Associate''s Degree from Ivy Tech Community College and after that she received her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana State University. She attended City Life Church in Bloomington. Sam enjoyed cleaning, hiking and going to her fitness together workout group but she especially loved being a mom and spending time with her friends and family.
Colton was born on December 30, 2009 in Linton to his beautiful mother, Samantha Jerrell. He was a freshman at Linton Stockton High School where he was just recently on the 2024 Homecoming Court. He enjoyed playing video games as well as writing programs for video games. He was part of a group of friends who made movies on Youtube where they did voiceovers on Minecraft and he really enjoyed doing that too. Colton especially loved spending time with his loving sister and best friend, Trenity. They would play card games together as well as board games and Colton was also a dog lover.
These two beautiful souls are survived by their daughter and sister, Trenity Barton; parents and grandparents, John & Cheri Jerrell; Sam's siblings and Colton's aunts and uncles, AJ Lawson, John Jerrell, Jr., Jerry Jerrell, Harley (Anthony) Leoncini and Katie Ludwig as well as their several nieces, nephews, cousins as well as great aunts and uncles.
They are preceded in death by their infant daughter and baby sister, Hanna Barton.
Public visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 1:00-7:00 pm.
