Ruth Geraldine (Wilson) Graves
/Ruth Geraldine (Wilson) Graves, 95, of Laurinburg, NC, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, surrounded by her sons. She was born in Linton on December 11, 1925, the daughter of John and Rosa (Moore) Wilson and resided in Worthington until 2004.
She was a 1944 graduate of Worthington-Jefferson High School and worked at the Worthington Post Office and WJ High School. Known to many as “Mrs. Graves or Mama Ruth”, she always enjoyed fixing teammate meals and spent many of her days serving others at her church and the SonShine Shop. She loved attending her boys sporting events with her husband Buster, cooking, collecting roosters, and watching reruns of the Golden Girls. Her grandchildren were the apple of her bright blue eyes. She was always known to get her blue coat and hat ready for the many shopping trips.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Linda) Graves of Laurinburg, NC, granddaughter, Heather Brooke (Kevin) Rader, grandson, Kelsey Graves, granddaughter, Allison Veatch; great-grandsons, Wyatt and Wesley Veatch; son, Randy (Sondra) Graves both of Laurinburg, North Carolina; grandson, Austin (Christy) Graves, and granddaughter Kayli (Dawson) Graves-Shelley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Austin ‘Buster’ Graves (07/07/1992), brother, Don (Alice) Wilson, sister Dorothy, (Guy) Aldrich, nephews, Bobby Wilson and Jimmy Cooper, and many in-laws.
Funeral service will be held at Folsom United Methodist Church in Worthington at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, Pastor Warren Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
The family request all visitors wear a face mask.
