Russell “Bud” Miller

Russell "Bud" E. Miller, age 88, of Switz City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born in Switz City, IN on June 15, 1930, the son of John E. & Margaret Hazel (Justus) Miller.

He was married to Marilyn (Newman) Miller on September 13, 1952 by Rev. Royden Rea. They were married for 66 years.

Bud was a graduate of Switz City High School, Indiana Barber College, Vincennes University and Summa Cum Laude from Indiana State University with a degree in Safety Management. 

He was the local barber in Switz City for 20 years. Russell also worked at Crane, The State Highway Dept., drove a school bus and after retirement worked for the Graves Plumbing Company. He retired from Newport Ammunition Depot as a Safety Director.

He was a member of the Switz City First Baptist Church, a lifetime member and Past Master of the Switz City Masonic Lodge 676 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, Murat, and American Legion Post #22 in Linton. He was also a Veteran of the United States Marines Corp.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Miller of Linton; daughter, Melonie (Rick)Graves of Switz City; sons, Randolph "Randy" R. (Debbie Hood) Miller of Switz City and Russell E. "Rusty" Miller, Jr. of Linton; grandchildren, Matthew (Susan) Graves, Mark (Kristi) Graves, Andrew (Lori) Graves, A.J. Graves, Sean Miller, Megan Miller, Josh Miller, Miranda Miller and Marisa (Jake) Soliday; great grandchildren, Abby, Lily, Lexi Kate, Addi, Alexis, Lani, Aiden, Marlee and Finnley Graves and Bryar Miller and sister, Aletha King.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Jerry, Harry, John "Jay", Warren and Ross; sisters, Wilma Haines and Ruth Rader. 

Graveside service will be held at Switz City Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018.
