Ronald "Ron" Myers
Ronald "Ron" Myers, age 81, of Bloomfield, went to be with the Lord at 11:44 am on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Greene County General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Odon, IN on September 16, 1943, the son of Charles "Dee" Myers & Vonda L. (Osmon) Myers.
He was a 1961 graduate of Odon High School. He was a proud Navy and Army National Guard Veteran. He retired from Crane after 38 years of service in 2000 as a Utility Systems Operations Leader. Following this he went on to work for a couple years for Jimmy Craig Construction, then finished up his working career doing environmental testing with SAIC at Crane. He attended Linton First Christian Church and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating and camping. He was very active in home improvements, especially remodeling his home and landscaping to enjoy with his beautiful family he loved so much. His favorite joy was spending time with his family. He was such a sweet, caring and loving man who will be truly missed by so many people.
Ron is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Linda (Wills) Myers of Bloomfield; daughters, Angela (Tim) Cooper of Bloomfield and Stephanie (Jason Santiago) Myers of Columbus; grandchildren, Kayetlyn (Gage) Mattingly, Aerie Cooper and Wrynn Cooper; great grandchildren, Tyson Mattingly and Bristol Mattingly; brother, Charles R. (Carolyn) Myers of Odon; sister, Linda (Dennis) McCallian of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Lee of Linton; nephew, Jay (Charlotte) Miller and nieces, Kristyn (Greg) Wile, Lori McCallian and Dana (Chris) Byers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles D. "Dee" Myers; step mother, Violet Myers; mother, Vonda L. Myers and nephew, Michael Miller.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Thursday, October 10, 2024 with Pastor Archie Ellett officiating. Burial will follow at Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
