Ronald E. Koons, age 80, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 8:12 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Deconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville with his family by his side. He was born in Covington, Kentucky on March 11, 1944, the son of Russell Dewitt Koons and Violet Marie (Cullins) Koons. 

Ronald was a 1963 graduate of Dugger High School. He served in the Army from 1965-1967 and the Air National Guard in 1972. He worked at Crane in the Heating & Cooling department. Ronald also worked at General Electric for over IO years. 

Ronald was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and attended the Breathe of Life. 

He enjoyed golfing, making crafts with woodwork, and traveling to see his grandsons play baseball. He loved his family so much. 

He is survived by his daughters, Cathie (Lonnie) Land of Linton, Christy (James) Cox of Linton; grandchildren, Kevin (Hailey) Ivy, Ashley (Jeff) Allen,Lauren Land and Wyatt Land; great-grandchildren, Jimmy Ray Colvin, Ace Eugene Colvin, Mckenzie Allen, Bradley Land, Payton Ditzler, Chloe Lynn Ivy, Axel Allen, and Quentin Colvin, Evan Allen, Emma Allen, Emberli Allen; siblings, Harry Koons and Peggy Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judy Koons; brother, Donald Wayne Carnes; sisters, Sondra Wright, Cathie Ann Koons, and several aunts and uncles. 

Military rites and funeral services will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home at 11:00 Tuesday, October 8, 2024 with Cathy Jo Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. 

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 4- 8 with the masonic services starting at 7:00 PM.
