Ronald C. Pickett, age 61, of rural Linton, passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He was born in Great Lakes, Illinois on September 6, 1964, the son of William J. and Mary Ann (Leviner) Pickett.

Ron was a heavy equipment operator for many years, formerly working at Prairie Sand and Gravel in Bloomfield. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing. Ron had a great appreciation for traveling and cooking as well. He will be remembered for his kind heart, striking up a conversation with anyone he met and the joy he found in the simple things of life.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda (Dyrek) Pickett; a son, Nathan Pickett (Destiny Franklin); two daughters, Brandy Brown (Ryan) and Taylor Laycock (John); two step-daughters, Erica Smith and Marci York; a brother, Richard Pickett (Kelly); a sister, Yvette Dean (Jeff); and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marcia Engler.

Burial will be held in Bohley Cemetery at 10 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2024. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
