Ronald B. "Butch" Atwood, 84, of Phoenix, AZ formerly of Jarales, NM passed away at 2:10 A.M. Sunday, January 14, 2024 in Arizona State Veterans Home in Phoenix, AZ.

He was born April 26, 1939 in Hutsonville, IL to Charles William Atwood and Maxine (Beabout) Colliflower.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Atwood of Phoenix, AZ; children, Stephanie Ann Atwood of Goodyear, AZ, Ronald Charles Atwood of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Rachel, Christopher, Charles William, Amanda Renee, Robert James; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Kari, William, Steven; siblings, Keith Atwood (Brenda) of Princeton, TX, Linda Woods (Tadpole) of Oblong, IL; his fur buddies, Bullet and Radar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Leroy Atwood; daughter, Rhonda K. Mikeworth; step-father, Dean Clough; step-mothers, Cannie Clough and Roberta “Bobbie” Atwood.

Butch attended Hutsonville High School later receiving his GED to graduate. Butch served in the US Navy and US Army. He worked as a Freight Conductor for the Railroad until his retirement.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Arrangements are pending.

Interment will be at Hutsonville Cemetery in Hutsonville, IL with Military Graveside Rites.
