Roger L. Lehman

Roger L. Lehman, age 64, of Linton, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was born in Linton on January 9, 1957, the son of Harry L. & Philomene (Vits) Lehman.

Roger was a 1975 graduate from Linton-Stockton High School.  He graduated from Vincennes University with a nursing degree and later from Kettering College with a Physicians Assistant Degree.  

He served as Linton Fire Chief for a short time, worked at the Federal Penitentiary in Terre Haute from 2005-2008, multiple emergency rooms and urgent cares, Vincennes Veterans Administration, and retired from the Veterans Administration in Danville, Illinois on Nov. 30, 2018. He also worked at the radio station in Linton.

Roger was a member of the Church of Christ, F. & A.M. Lodge #560, and Sons of the American Legion Post #22, all of Linton.  

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and trap shooting.  He received his pilots license at the age of 25 and enjoyed flying his two planes.  Roger was proud to have earned his blackbelt in Karate.  

He is survived by his wife whom he married on September 3, 2005, Belinda Marie (Kendall) Lehman of Linton, a daughter, Jennifer Stuteville of Evansville, a step-daughter, Christi Mathis of Linton, his brother, Jeff (April) Lehman of Linton, a grandson, Austin, two step-grandchildren, Alexandria and Xander, three great grandchildren and his former spouse, Starlene Padgett Lucas of Farmersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service and Masonic Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
