Robert L. Uland

Robert L. Uland, age 74 of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away July 2 at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born July 5, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Herman (Shorty) and Jessie Uland.

He is survived by Mari Uland his high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, his two sons Robert R. (Jennifer) Uland, John Uland, his grandchildren Elizabeth (Spencer) Carpenter, Thaida Uland, Zeb Uland, and Ceci Craig, Thaida and Zeb‘s mother Janessa Uland, his brother Steve Newell and sister Melinda Newell, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Dad Herman (Shorty) Uland, Mom Jessie (Roach) Uland, sister Diane Uland, Grandpa Bob Uland, Grandma Ida Uland, and maternal grandparents.

He served in the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Bloomfield American Legion and served as a member of the Bloomfield town board. He was the owner of the Greene County Distributing Inc. for many years. He was a proud supporter of the Bloomfield community and a major proponent of the Bloomfield Pool and Bloomfield Apple Festival.

A celebration of life for Bob will be held at 1pm on Sunday July 18th at Bob Uland Jr.’s shop at 3 E. Davis St.

Donations in lieu of flowers are to be made out to the Bloomfield pool.
