Robert J. "Bob" Turner
/Robert J. ‘Bob’ Turner, 87, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at his home. He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on October 26, 1932 to Jesse James and Bertha Evangeline (Baney) Turner.
Bob married Edna May (Baldwin) Turner and after her passing, he later married Norma Jean (Hurst) Turner.
Bob faithfully attended Olive Branch Baptist Church. He was an Outreach Director with Bloomfield Library and was a retired drywall business owner.
Family left to cherish the memory of Bob include: one daughter, Robin D. Neill; grandchildren: Jennifer D. Shepard, Jonathan R. Shepard (Marilyn Navarro) and Cameron J. Neill; great-granddaughter, Evelyn; step-sons, Kevin (Susie) Hurst and Randy (Teresa) Hurst; step-grandchildren, Aaron, Derick, Amanda, Candace, Alicia, Teresa, Shawn, Mike, Willie, Jesse and Christopher; several step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Sawyer and Carol (Randy) Benson.
Bob was preceded in death by: his parents, Jesse and Bertha; step-father, Lefty Bowers; his two wives, Edna and Norma; one brother, David Turner; step-sons, Shawn Hurst, Mike Hurst, David Hurst and Joe Hurst.
A memorial service honoring the life of Bob will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Dan Kemp officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Friday.
