ROBERT F. “RICK” SAPP, 78, of Homewood, IL. Passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Rush University Hospital in Chicago, IL.

He was born December 18, 1944 in Terre Haute, IN to William Sapp and Elizabeth (Gossman) Sapp.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jane Ann Sapp of Homewood, IL, they married on July 31, 1965; children, Robert G. Sapp (Susan) of St. Charles, IL, Barbara Wiers (Scott) of Chicago Heights, IL, Teresa Duffy (Tom) of Lowell, IN, Wesley Sapp (Shelly Jeffrey) of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Brandon, Krystal, Karly, Emily, Henry, Jack, Jake, Chelsey, Emilia, Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Emma, Skylar; siblings, Jim Sapp of Terre Haute, IN, Mildred Halsted of Farmersburg, IN, Mary Katherine Modesitt (Fritz) of Brazil, IN, Martha Markle of Alamogordo, NM, Linda Knust (Larry) of Cory, IN; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Sapp (Shirley), David Sapp.

Robert graduated Coalmont High School. He moved to the Chicago area for work in 1964, where he worked at Material Services the next 42 years. He retired in 2009, when he fished, hunted, went mushroom hunting, watched sports and read books to occupy his time. He was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in 2014, fought it for 9 years and with other problems, it was too much for his body. Robert will be missed by everyone.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday, September 25, 2023 and 9 A.M. until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 with Pastor James Phipps officiating

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN
