Robert Eugene Jerrels

Robert Eugene Jerrels, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville. Born October 19, 1934 in Linton, he was the son of William Thomas Jr. and Bernice (Sipes) Jerrels.

Robert, known to most as Bob, wore many hats over his life time. Graduated from Linton-Stockton High School, went to Indiana State University, and recieved certifications from Indiana University Purdue University for Watch Repair. He served overseas in the United States Army during the Korean War. Worked at Whites grocery with his wife Ellen. He was operator of Jerrels Jewelry in Bloomfield where he and his wife raised their family. He also participated in community groups such as the Masons, the Odd Fellows, and was an active member for many years at Bloomfield First Christian Church. Retirement allowed Bob to do what he enjoyed most of all, spending time with family.

Bob was a devoted Christian, loved catching up with friends, and enjoyed working on cars and household projects. He got to travel to many places with the Army and with his family, where he would tell stories about his adventures.

Surviving relatives include: his children, Angela Hoseman (Andrew) and Paula Peoples; his grandchildren, Andrea Peoples (Michael), Ashley Connor, January Hoseman and Cameron Hoseman; three great grandchildren, Wesley, Mason and Marley; one brother, Richard Jerrels and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Lee Jerrels, wife, Elizabeth Ellen Jerrels on November 28, 2019 and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Scott Chastain officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Bloomfield First Christian Church.
