Robert Edward McDonald, age 84, of Linton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Linton, IN on November 11, 1937, the son of Robert Evan & Esta (Loveall) McDonald.

He was a 1955 graduate of Switz City High School. He worked at Citizens Gas as a storage field attendant for 37 years. He was a Deacon at Providence Church for over 40 years and enjoyed wood working, raccoon hunting, horseback riding, gardening and farmed most of his life. He was an accomplished musician and he wrote and published books, articles and songs over the years.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Marcella (Mowery) McDonald of Linton; children, Scott (Tonya) McDonald of Bloomfield, Sheila (John) McLain of Plainfield and Kevin (Lori) McDonald of Seymour; grandchildren, Jonathon (Marcelle) McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Ethan Neff, Clayton Neff, Jason McDonald, Kaylee (Jona) Odell, Ashley (Tyler) McKinney, Emily (James) Kelley and Trent (Savannah) McLain; great grandchildren, Kalvin Neff, Kaisyn Neff, Duke McKinney, Hadley McKinney, Ella Kelley and Declan Kelley; sisters, Joanna (Earl) White, Carol (Ron) Swisher and Sharon (Larry) Nelson; brother, Harry (Brenda) McDonald and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Lee McDonald and sisters, Wilma Anderson, Lora Bays and Theora Puebola.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Walker Cemetery in Worthington with Pastor Dwight Gould officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Church.
