Robert "Bob" L. Cunningham, age 82, of Linton, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Linton, IN on November 29, 1940, the son of Joseph & Dora May (Ellis) Cunningham. Bob married the love of his life, Carolyn (Dailey) Cunningham on June 9, 1962.

He worked for Peabody Coal before opening his own mechanic business, "Bob's Garage". After his retirement or his two vacations at six months each, as he often said, you could find Bob on the river, fishing for all the big catfish and smelling like cheese bait. Bob was always up for a good laugh and had a great sense of humor. If he wasn't on the river, he was sitting on the front porch, sipping RC or tea, and teasing all of his favorite people, giving extra teases to the ones who called him "Papaw".

Family left to cherish the memory of Bob include his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Cunningham; sons, Brad (Jennifer) Cunningham, Jefforey "Jeff" (Rita) Sisk and Jason (Kimberly) Sisk; grandchildren, Shea (Zach) Compton, Keith Cunningham, Marlene (Dusty) Jerrell, Lily Sisk, Liam Swaby and Leah Sisk; great grandchildren, Isabelle Rose and Delaney Jerrell; sisters, Joyce (Curt) Bland, Opal Vest, Sue Wallace, Pat (Jim) Knotts, Doris Medley and Beulah (Steve) Shonk as well as his brother, Ron (Judy) Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters; brothers, James "Jim" Cunningham and Billy Cunningham; sisters-in-law, Diane Cunningham and Ruth Cunningham as well as his brothers-in-law, Ernest "Bud" Medley and Donald "Don" Vest.

Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Linton at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 with Pastor Ben Biggs officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
