Rita Jane Kester, age 95, of Jasonville, passed away peacefully at 12:20 am on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at her residence. She was born in Spencer, IN on February 4, 1925, the daughter of Roxie Hedrick & Edna (Franklin) Hedrick.

She worked at Herff Jones Jewelry Store in Indianapolis, where she lived for over 50 years. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Rita was also a member of the Switz City Christian Church.

Rita is survived by her loving children, Terry (Vonda) E. Kester of Greenwood, Janet (Randy) England of Sullivan, Cherry Dollahan of Jasonville and Judith Evans of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Kathy Kester of Jasonville; 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Page of Jasonville and Betty Torr of Indianapolis and several close friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Kester in 1977; son, James Kester; two sisters and her parents.

Due to the precautions being taken for the health and safety of the community, private visitation and services will be observed by the family. The service will be webcast at 12 noon Monday, March 30, 2020.
