Rita B. Hobson, 89, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Autumn Trace in Linton. Born November 15, 1932 in Linton, she was the daughter of Van Bough and Lee and Lucille (Foster) Hash.

In 1950 she married James Hobson and they were married for 69 years.

She was a 1950 graduate of Bloomfield High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Concord General Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Society and taught Sunday school for many years.

Surviving relatives include: her children, James Hobson (Leona) of Bloomfield, Terry Hobson (Darlene) of Lyons and Nancy Swedran (Jeff) of Worthington; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Penny) Hobson, Laurie (Chad) Waldon, Sam Hobson, Curtis Swerdran, Cara Swedran, Andrea (Mark) Thomas, Tara (Eli) Butler and Parker Hobson; her great grandchildren, Mitch (Marisa) Hobson, Jacob Waldon, Allison Waldon, John Thomas, Gabe Thomas, Forest Lewellen, Phoenix Lewellen, Finn Lewellen, Sylvie Butler and Glory Hager; and one great-great grandchild, Eliza Hobson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mont Hobson on April 14, 2019, her parents and Lee Hash who raised her.

Private services will be conducted at Concord General Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Moore and Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Calvertville cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

There will be no public visitation.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Missionary Society at Concord General Baptist Church.
