Richard D. Barton, age 61, of West Baden Springs, Indiana, formerly of Linton, passed away peacefully at 10:19 A.M. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.  He was born in Linton on May 19, 1960, the son of Richard D. & Mary (Lewis) Barton.

Richard worked as a truck driver for Nancy Bear Trucking in Jasper.  He enjoyed working in his garage, dirt track racing, and loved anything with a motor.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on July 5, 1995, Melissa (Frenier) Barton, three sons, Richard D. “Richie” (Lois) Barton of Terre Haute, Ren D. (Morgan E.) Barton of Linton, and Brian M. (Morgan M.) Barton of West Baden Springs, two brothers, Tony Frye of Hymera and Denny Barton of Linton, and thirteen grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dagon, DeKon, Lillith, Trenity, Dallas, Addy, Kinely, Nancy, Bo-Bo, Henlee, Bristina, and Zaylee.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jana Moore, and a granddaughter, Hanna.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 12 noon until 1:00 P.M.

Graveside service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.
