Richard Allen Carpenter

Richard Allen Carpenter 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at his residence. Born September 30, 1937 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Joseph and Josephine Louella (Michaels) Carpenter.

He worked for Bryant Heating and Cooling in Indianapolis and was a farmer. He served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a member of the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge #723, Scottish Rite and Shrine in Indianapolis.

Surviving relatives include: one brother, Harry Carpenter of Bloomington; his sisters, Martha J. Burch (Rodney) of Melbourne, Florida, Edna Thompson (Lloyd) of Bloomfield, Donna Horrall (Mike) of Kosciusko, Mississippi and Mary Kay Edwards of Rockledge, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Harrah) Carpenter on December 7, 2008, his daughter, Clita Ann Carpenter on February 7, 2012 and five brothers, Robert, Roy, Ralph, Dan and Laverne Carpenter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Newark Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home,
