Rhunetta G. Rose

Rhunetta G. Rose, 79, of Newburgh, Indiana, formerly of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven with her loving family by her side, on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Newburgh. She was born on September 4, 1942 in Boothton, Alabama to Herschel Goggins and Eva Louise (Owens) Goggins Covey.

Rhunetta was married to the love of her life, Melvin T. Rose, until his passing on October 23, 2001.

Rhunetta was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church of God in Evansville. She was a homemaker and served as a Pastor’s wife, working many years alongside her husband. Rhunetta also worked at Glenburn Home in Linton for several years before retiring in 2013.

Family left to cherish the memories of Rhunetta include: three daughters, Lori (Eddie) Carroll Evansville, Lisa (Normand) Brodeur of Newburgh and Lyna (Jeremiah) Stark of Cisne, IL; grandchildren, Christina, Carrie, Cindy, Benjamin, Rebecca, Micaiah, Josiah, Zechariah and Savannah; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jayden, Shayne, Jonathan and Madison; one great-great-grandson, Oliver; two brothers, Ricky (Kaye) Goggins of Portage and Kenny (Teresa) Goggins of Jasper; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rhunetta was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Melvin Rose; two brothers, Gary and Rhonie Goggins.

Funeral services to honor the life of Rhunetta will be at 1:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Eddie Carroll officiating. Rhunetta will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM (EST) until 1:00 PM (EST) on Thursday at the funeral home.
