Raymond Thomas McDaniel, 86, of Bloomfield passed away Wednesday May 16, 2018, at Garden Villa in Bloomington. Born July 16, 1931, in Greene County, Indiana, the son of William Everett and Florence Belle (Davis) McDaniel.

Raymond worked for the Concrete Silo Plant in Bloomfield, and was a Machinist for Westinghouse for 29 years, retiring in 1991. Raymond was a member of the Newark General Baptist Church where he was past Superintendent and Deacon, a die-hard Cubs fan and the IBEW.Surviving relatives include his wife Nora McDaniel of Bloomfield, two sons, Thomas Ray McDaniel of Terre Haute, Michael James McDaniel (Lindsey) of Ellettsville, his grandchildren, Carter Whaley, Avery and Elliston McDaniel and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Edna Florence Tally, one brother, Owen Everett McDaniel, a half-brother, William McDaniel and a\two half-sisters, Olive Groomer and Agnes Gott.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Sylvania Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dave Taylor and Rev. Kent Huber officiating. Burial will follow at Sylvania Cemetery.
