Ralph E. Hiatt, age 88 of Lyons, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018, at his residence.  Ralph was born in Cass Township in Sullivan County on April 8, 1930, the son of Leslie Russle Hiatt & Millie Edith (Saucerman) Hiatt.

He was a 1948 graduate of Dugger Union High School.  He was a dealer of Minneapolis-Moline & J.I. Case in the 1950's & 1960's. He retired from Indiana Bell as a installer and repairman.  Ralph and his wife, Shirley, established HiCom, Inc. installing phone systems and later video surveillance.  He is proud that his grandchildren carry on their family business today.

He was a member and elder of the Lincoln Christian Church, a over 50-year member of Masonic Lodge #676, former president of the Lions Club, former president of Local #4711 Communication Workers of America, a former member of the Greene County Foundation Board, and a 25 year board member of the Greene County General Hospital Board of Trustee's where he served as president for many years.  

Ralph was an avid gardener and proud that he had traveled all 50 states.  

He is survived by his three daughters, Susan D. McDonald of Elberfeld, Lisa A. (Kem) McKee of Linton, and Linda M. (David) Clark of Linton, two brothers, Donald G. (Carroll) Hiatt of Murietta, CA & Jon L. (Jean) Hiatt of Jasonville, grandchildren, Shelly, Russ, Diana, Richard, Jenny, Sara, Derek, Clayton, Courtney, Lindy, Leslie, & Erin, sixteen great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Nick, Noah, Jesse, Lane, Mia, Kora, Dagan, Jolee, Will, Abbigail, Leah, Dylan, Madison, Addalyn, & Jaxon, twelve step great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Shirley (Behem) Hiatt, a daughter, Carol Wheeler, a granddaughter, Kemberly, and a brother, Richard G. Hiatt, and two sons-in-law, Butch McDonald & Chuck Wheeler.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, with Cliff Gano officiating.  Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Greene County.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 8 P.M., and Tuesday from 9 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Christian Church through the funeral home.
