Rachel Ann (Barre) Speas, 85, of Linton, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the White River Lodge Nursing Home in Bedford, Indiana. Rachel was born in Cass, Indiana on October 4, 1935 to Harvey Tuttle Barre and Loretta Jane (Palmer) Barre.

Throughout the years, Rachel had worked at the Sullivan Drive Inn Theatre, American Latex, Gossards, and Perfection Packaging, all in Sullivan, Indiana. Rachel was a member of the Switz City Christian Church. Rachel loved to sew, having often made her own clothing and to be outdoors where she and her late husband Richard used to grow a garden.

Rachel is survived by her son, Richard "Byron" Speas, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Speas, and one brother, Gene Barre.

Funeral services are 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 23 South Jefferson Street, Worthington. Pastor Chris Gehring will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home.
