Phyllis White

Phyllis E. White, age 96, of Lyons, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Glenburn Home in Linton.  She was born in Greene County on June 1, 1922, the daughter of Claude B. & Jennie Bell (Taylor) Grounds.

She was a homemaker farmer's wife, spending 70 years making three meals a day.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, going to auctions, and spending time with her grandchildren. For many years she painted the senior cords for the L & M Seniors.  

She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.  She was a former member of the Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her children, Ronald White and Kathy (Douglas) Power, grandchildren, Kerri(Larry)Tennant, Rodney (Kim) White, Kelly (Michael) Payne, Michelle (Billy) Baxley, and Debra (Tom) Duncan, four great-grandchildren, Amanda (Kelsey) Schilt, Zachary Tennant, Derrick (Erica) Baxley, and Ethan (Janae) Enstrom, granddaughter-in-law, Amy Baxley, seven great-great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Bill J. White of Lyons and Jack Benham, and nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Morris E. White on July 3, 2018, a son, Tony White on Nov. 30, 2017, her brother, Claude "Max" Grounds, great-grandson, Chad Baxley.

Graveside service will be held at Prairie Chapel Cemetery on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 1:30 pm.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
