Paula Jewell, 69, of Jasonville, IN passed away July 30, 2026, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Alton Brooks Shacklett and Patricia Bonham Shacklett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband, Larry Jewell a son, Jason Collier and two brothers; Douglas and Richard Scott Shacklett. Paula retired from Walmart.

She is survived by two sons; Shane Collier (Amanda) of Erin, TN. and Ryan Smith of Jasonville, IN., two brothers; James Shacklett of Jasonville, IN and Dallas Shacklett (Shannon) of Shelburn, IN., two sisters; Rebecca Shacklett (Charlie Kennett) of Jasonville, IN and Danielle Marshall of Jasonville, IN, five grandchildren; Brooklyn Collier, Caleb Collier (Cassie), Jace Collier, J.J. Smith, and Lucas Black, one great grandchild, Rayleigh Collier and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 1:00PM at Newkirk’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00AM until services Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
