Patrick “Pat” David Ruff

Patrick “Pat” David Ruff, age 49, of Linton, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Linton, IN on July 10, 1972, the son of Allen & Dianna (Fordyce) Ruff.

He worked as a mechanic most of his life building square body Chevys for show or mud Boggs. He loved the roar of an ol’ Chevy exhaust. He was everyone’s go to mechanic until his tragic accident in 2012. In his younger years he won several trophies for all surrounding county mud boggs and derbys. He loved spending time with his friends, going to Redbird side by side riding or just tinkering. He loved his girls dearly and enjoyed seeing them and spending time with them. In 2017 he welcomed his first grandchildren, Maggie “Moog” Rose and Benjamin “Ben”. In 2021 he welcomed another granddaughter, Miss Stella Renee. They were his pride and joy. He spoiled them rotten. He gave this world a good fight. He was able to bless his children and family with 10 more years no matter the challenges he came across he wouldn’t have changed that. He will always be remembered for his perfect smile, his ability to forgive all evil, most of all his ability to love without any limitations.

People left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Harley (Homer Abrams) Cottingham, Chevy (Skyler Getchell) Ruff, Taylor (Collin) Berg, Sydney “Squid” (Devon) Berg and Madison Hill; grandchildren, Maggie Rose Cottingham, Benjamin Cottingham and Stella Renee Sky; sister, Nicole Ruff; niece, Tianna Sweeney; aunts, Joyce Wiggington and Carolyn (Louhon) Tucker; uncle, Kenny Fordyce as well as cousins, Barbie Scott and Bobby Scott and special friend, Rhonda Sparks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tequilla Ruff; fiancé, Renee Hill; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Fordyce; maternal grandpa, William “Bill” Fordyce and paternal grandmother, Nancy Souders.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
