Patricia Ann Graves
/Patricia Ann Graves was born on July 17, 1947 to Wayne and Ruth Graves of Greene County, Indiana. Patricia passed away with family by her side at the age of 75 on December 1, 2022.
She will be best remembered as a wonderful, caring mother with wisdom and love for God and her family. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was the co-founder and director of the national dance/clogging team, the Rise n’ Shine Cloggers. It not only brought joy to her family, but the community as a whole. Many team and family members traveled and performed at festivals, competitions, Walt Disney World in Florida, Knotts Berry Farm in California, BYU stadium in Utah, Silver Dollar City in Missouri and even performed in Hawaii, dancing in the communities. The greatest accomplishment was the performances on “Hee Haw” in Nashville, Tennessee.
After raising four children, Patricia earned a degree in accounting and retired from the Army Defense Finance and Accounting Center located at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis.
Patricia is survived by her husband Wayne Emberton and her children, Tricia Helms, Gretchen Simmerman (Brian Simmerman) and Jessica Murphy (Patrick Murphy), four granddaughters: Erika Hasler, Gwennyth Simmerman, Eva Murphy, and Norah Murphy, six grandsons: Henry “Hank”(Maggie) Hasler, Luke (Olivia) Helms, Cameron Hasler, Jacob “Jake” Simmerman, Nicholas Helms and Pierce Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Ruth Graves, her grandmother, Treva Sheetz and grandfather, Charles H. Swayze, her son, Jonathan Wayne Hasler and her children’s father, Michael Lee Hasler.
The family will receive friends for the visitation from 11 am-1 pm, Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Indiana. Service will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Rose Sparks officiating.
A graveside burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery located in Lyons, Indiana.
