Pansy L. Jackson

Pansy L. Jackson, 98, passed away at her residence near Owensburg on May 12, 2022, she was born on February 3, 1924 in Jackson Township, Greene County, Indiana to James Hugh and Minnie (Hayes) Busenburg.

Pansy grew up mostly in Martin County, Indiana; she attended Brock (a one room school), she later moved to Greene County where she met and married Carl Jackson. Together they owned and operated a farm, Jackson Auction Business and Jackson Sawmill. Pansy attended Pleasant Grove Church in Martin County and Kentucky Ridge Church in Greene County, she had worked at Crane, she was a seamstress and quilter, a great cook; she loved roaming the hills and gardening. She was proud of all her family and loved following the youth in their sports and accomplishments.

She is survived by three children, Lois (Ron) Toon of Bloomfield, Lonnie Jackson of Owensburg, and Ruth Jackson of Bloomington; 9 grandchildren, Peter C. (Diane) Jackson and Jason Jackson of Springville, Shannon W. (Izumi) Toon of Pismo Beach, CA, Amy (Mack) Rogers and Dale Jackson, Owensburg, Sara Meyers of Bloomington, Steven (Christina) Toon of Great Falls MT, Tina (Paul II) Wilkes, Koleen, Carla Fletcher, Williamsport; 20 great grandchildren, Cynthia and Patricia Toon, CA, Emily (Dylan) Byrd, Martinsville, Aaron Goad, Carmel, Elyse Goad, Morgan Rogers and Rolissa Wilkes, Bloomington, Jackson (Lilly) Rogers and Evan Rogers, Owensburg, Eli, Anna, Delia, Vivian and River Toon, MT, Danielle Park, Koleen, Sarah (Logan) Davis, CA, Susan Porter, Bicknell, Paul Wilkes III, Terre Haute; Alli Parker, Springville, and Stacy Jones, Nineveh; 11 great-great grandchildren; Colton, Landon, Phoebe, Jasper, Stephen, Wyatt, Ashlynn, Drayvin, Hunter, Ruby, and Audie; and daughter-in-law Shirley Jackson of Owensburg.

Pansy was preceded in death by her husband Carl D. Jackson, son Daniel Jackson, a brother, Milford L. Busenburg, four infant siblings, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Jackson, son-in-law, Rex Fletcher, a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Goad and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. on Sunday May 15, until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home with Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery.

The family wishes any memorial donations be made to the Kentucky Ridge Cemetery or the Dishman Cemetery in Pansy’s name.
