Moya DeNeyce Dailey

Moya DeNeyce Dailey, age 76, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 3:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 23, 1943, to her birth parents, Jay & Moya (Moan) Duncan, and went to be the daughter of Covert & Letitia (Moan) McBride at the age of 9 months, following the death of her birth parents.

Moya was a 1961 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.  Throughout the years, Moya worked at Ellis & Co. Feed Store, a bookkeeper and manager of Ax Farms, and retired from Lannan Liquors on February 2017.

She was a faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, all of Linton.

She enjoyed bowling, participating in leagues for forty-seven years.  She volunteered many years with the Linton Girls Softball Association, serving as president for several terms.  She truly loved being a Mamaw to "her" boys. 

She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Kenneth Ray Dailey of Linton, a daughter, Lynnet (Tim) Shonk of Linton, two grandsons, Derek Lee and Henry Kohl, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Covert John (Marie) McBride and Alfred L. (Maryanna) "Scotty" McBride, and two sisters, Katherine M. (James) Hawley and Mary Evelyn (Max) Adelman, father and mother-in-law, Owen & Nellie Dailey.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2020.  Private burial will be held in Samaria Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday from 4-8 P.M., and Saturday from 9-9:45 A.M. until processing to the church for the mass.
