Miriam Ruth Rollison

Miriam Ruth Rollison was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, and young at heart grandmother. Family was at the center of her life, and her legacy of love and compassion will be carried on by her loved ones. Miriam passed away on March 16, 2021 at her home in Bloomfield, Indiana at the age of 87.

Miriam was born March 1, 1934 in Lyons, Indiana, one of 12 children of Luther and Flossie Nichols. Miriam and her husband Laverne were married for over 68 years. They enjoyed a life of family, church, and travel as they raised their four children, Rob (Diana), Randy (Kay), Kris (Dale), and Kent (Anne). Miriam is survived by her beloved husband and their 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as 5 of her siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Miriam and Laverne have been very active members of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield for over 64 years, where she played piano and organ and taught Sunday School for many years. Her musical generosity and dedication to her church community was endless and inspiring. She and Laverne were also long-serving Directors and supporters of Shawnee Summer Theatre.

Miriam created beauty through her music, her gardens, and the loving relationships she had with each member of her family. She embodied love, grace, and kindness.

Due to Covid, the memorial service will be private for family only. For those who wish to honor her memory through charitable donation, Miriam and Laverne were long-time supporters of Shriners Hospitals for Children and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
