Mickey R. Ball, 68, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 9, 1950 at Linton to Arthur Ball and Gloria J. (Houldson) Bunch and was raised by his grandparents, George and Emma Houldson and his uncles, Ronnie and Darrell Houldson.

Mickey married his loving wife of 42 years, Cindy S. (Bedwell) Ball on July 1, 1976.

Mickey attended Linton First Christian Church and was a member of the UMWA. He retired in 2012 after 28 years of service as a coal miner with Amax Coal Company and then 10 years of service as a certified welder at Great Dane. Mickey enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and the time he spent coaching his daughters’ softball teams over the years. He loved going shopping with his wife and spending time with his grandkids and family. Mickey was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and was a very hard worker all his life.

Family left behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Cindy Ball of Linton; two daughters, Nicki and Ashley Ball, both of Linton; six grandchildren, Damian, Mercedez, Trenton, Peyton, Aaliyah and Zain; four brothers, Odus (Ronda) Ball of Switz City, Ted ‘TJ’ Ball (Becky Denman) of Linton, Rickey E. Bunch, Jr., of Illinois and Ronald L. (Pam) Bunch of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.

Mickey was preceded in death by: his parents; Brothers, Terry and Tim Ball and Rickey Bunch; sister, Vicky Edmondson; uncles, Darrell and Ronnie Houldson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Mickey will be laid to rest in Dugger Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
