Matthew W. “Matt” McCraney

Matthew W. “Matt” McCraney, 46, of Lyons passed away Wednesday April 13, 2022 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born March 18, 1976 in Linton, Indiana the son of Philip W. McCraney and Karen (Malone) McCraney Hickey.

Matt was a truck driver for Thatcher Trucking in Coal City, he was a member of the Refuge Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield where he was a worship leader, he loved to lead worship and serve the Lord. Matt had a passion for fast cars, music, fishing, all sports; especially basketball and food especially sweets. He had a crazy sense of humor and knew how to make others laugh at just the right time. He was one of the most giving people which is why it is no surprise to us that his last wish on this earth was to give the gift of life to others.

He leaves behind his mother Karen, wife Wendy, three sons, Travis (Katelyn) Jones, Philip (Shaelynn) McCraney, Austin McCraney; two granddaughters, Christina and Bridget Jones, his sister Becky and nieces and nephews.

Matt was preceded in death by his father Philip, his step father, Richard Hickey, a granddaughter, Mattalynn and his grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday at the Refuge Assembly of God Church (Highway 157 North in Bloomfield) and 1 P.M. on Tuesday until the hour of service at the Church.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Refuge Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jeff Williams and Pastor Joshua Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyons.

The family wishes any memorial donations in Matt’s name be given to Jenkins Funeral Home.
