Mary Kay Landis

Mary Kay Landis, of Linton, met Jesus on Thursday, December 29, 2022, following complications from emergency surgery. She was 83. Kay was born in Linton on August 27, 1939, to Ernest & Irene (Russell) Dennis.

She married F. David Landis on May 1, 1959, and he survives. Dave and Kay have one daughter, Dee (Randy) Goodman, of Bloomington, and she survives.

Kay graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1957.  She worked as a vice-president at Peoples Trust Company, beginning her career in the late 1960’s, and retiring in 2007 from Mainsource Bank. Throughout her life, she lived to serve others and help those in need. She and Dave were faithful charter members of Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton where she taught Sunday School, and they worked in a variety of roles. She was famous for her cooking and loved her family well. She enjoyed preparing meals for others and spending time with her family, as well as camping at the Sullivan County Park, where she worked at the front gate. She and Dave created a Christ-centered family whose faith continues on despite their loss.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene and Ron Dennis; a sister, Deloris Sarris; a toddler brother, Bobby Dennis; and an infant sister, Betty Dennis. 

She is survived by her husband; daughter; granddaughters, Danielle Rosier of Goshen, Kentucky, and Kristen Kirchner of Columbus, Indiana; and one great-grandson, Collin Kirchner of Columbus, Indiana; a brother, Don (Joyce) Dennis of Linton, and five sisters, Joyce Lively of Greencastle, Judy Trinkle of Columbia, Missouri, Marylin Allenbaugh of Linton, and Patty (Sam) Neff of Linton, and Melba Gregory of Linton. 

A private service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess Hospital Health and Science Building, through the funeral home.
