Mary Gentry, 89, of Pleasantville IN, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Glenburn Home in Linton, IN. She was born in Terre Haute, IN July 14, 1936, the daughter of William G. England and Margaret Mosteller England.

Mary was a member of the Pleasantville Community Church. Mary loved her family gatherings with all the laughter and her home on the lake watching the animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William Ralph “Butchie” England, Donnie England and Daniel England, a step sister, Linda Swickard and a grandson, Travis St. John.

Survivors include her husband, of 51 years John Gentry, four daughters; Deborah Hauck (Jerry) of Linton, IN. Rhonda Mason (Dale) of Linton, IN., Leslie Reed of Linton, IN. and Alana Duckwall (Matt) of Clay City, IN. two sons; Mike Gentry (Rosa) of Linton, IN, James Gentry of Aurora, Indiana, a sister, Linda Cooper of West Terre Haute, step sister, Betty Wiggington of W. Terre Haute, IN. two step brothers; Billy Swickard of W. Terre Haute, IN and Ron Swickard of Terre Haute, IN. 11 grandchildren, Kenny Tuttle, Richie Chubb, Danielle Angelini, Stacey Chubb, Meagan Gentry, Sarah Williamson, Luke Hutcherson, Elizabeth Duckwall, Anna Duckwall, Michaela Morris, and Geoffrey Gentry and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2025 with Pastor Abram Beck officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN.
