Mary E. Clark, 88, of rural Jasonville, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, August 3, 2026, at home, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Mary was born at home in Jasonville on July 16, 1938, to Loren E. “Hap” Bowersock and Lillian Maxine (Gabbard) Bowersock, and she lived her life with quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to those around her.

Mary graduated from Worthington-Jefferson High School in 1957. Over the years, she worked in several places and roles, including the Worthington Cord Factory, cleaning homes, the Linton Public Library, and caring for the elderly. No matter the job, Mary was known for her strong work ethic, her gentle spirit, and the care she gave to others. She especially cherished her time at the library, where her love of reading was right at home. At home, she found joy in simple blessings, including her beloved cat, Pretty Girl, reading her Bible, and the comfort of her faith. Mary was baptized at Mt. Vernon Church and attended Providence Baptist Church in recent years, where her faith continued to be an important part of her life.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Lois Mahan (Roger), Suzann Neff (Rod), and Ellen Dickinson (Sam); seven grandchildren, Nicholas Mahan (Samantha), Nathan Mahan, Heather Perry (Andy), Braylon Neff, Chrystal Hensley, Natasha Hensley, and Andrew Allen; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Bowersock and Lawrence Bowersock (Kelly); two sisters, Hila Miller and Nila Frye; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Bowersock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Clark; an infant son; and four siblings, Violetta Noel, Jake Bowersock, Lola Burdette, and Lovenia Bowersock.

A funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, of Walton Funeral Service, at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026, with Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery, near her home.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
