Marlene K. Lux, 77, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, with her loved ones by her side, on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born on March 29, 1945 in Odon, Indiana to Loren A. and Mary Elizabeth (Brookshire) Bowers.
Marlene married her husband of 58 years, Jerry J. Lux, on July 18, 1964.
Marlene was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton, Loyal Order of the Moose #1434, American Legion Post #22 Ladies’ Auxiliary and VFW Post #7118 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She retired on May 19, 2018 from Linton-Stockton School Corporation, where she was a cafeteria worker for nearly 50 years. Marlene loved her job and the many students she met over the years. She was affectionately known as ‘The Lunch Lady’.
Family left to cherish the memories of Marlene include: her husband, Jerry Lux; one son, Danny (Kelly) Lux of Linton; daughter-in-law, Terry Lux of Linton; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald (Genie) Bowers of Linton; one sister, Jan (Mark) Bowers-Townsend of Australia and special niece, Peggy Lux Watson of Terre Haute.
Marlene was preceded in death by: her parents; two sons, Paul Jay Lux and infant, Raymond Jon Lux; granddaughter, Jackson Danielle Lux; great-granddaughter, Hanna Alene Faith Barton; two brothers, William D. Bowers and Larry ‘Butch’ Bowers.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons with Father Simon Natha officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness, in care of Meng Family Funeral Home, 89 C Street NW, Linton, IN 47441.

Reva Pauline Wells Thatcher, 93, of Worthington, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 27, 1931, near Arney in Owen County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dennis "Jake" and Ona (White) Wells. Pauline, as she was affectionately known, was a hardworking and dedicated woman who, alongside her husband Fletcher Thatcher Jr., owned and operated Thatcher Feed and Grain in Worthington for many years.
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our precious son, Houston Dwayne Hinkle who went home to be with Jesus on February 2, at just 10 months old. Though his time on earth was brief, his life was filled with love, courage, and the undeniable presence of God’s grace.
Patricia L. ‘Pat’ Morrison, 76, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven, on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at IU Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on October 13, 1948 in Washington, Indiana, to Joseph and Madeline Lola (Whittenmier) Brothers. Pat married her husband, Lester W. Morrison, on February 17, 1968.
