Marjorie Brookshire, 93, of Newberry passed away Friday January 8, 2021 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born December 2, 1927 in Greene County, Indiana the daughter of Norvel and Nora (Plummer) Malone.

Marjorie was a homemaker and a member of the Newberry United Methodist Church, she loved working in her yard and in her flowers, she got to travel to all fifty states and some other countries, she was always someone you could turn to.

Surviving relatives include her children Donald Brookshire and Debra Brookshire Fish, she has five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, one sister, Ethel Cox, one brother Lee Malone and a sister-in-law Rosemary Malone.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband William Brookshire in 1976, one son Robert “Bob” Brookshire, three brothers, two sisters and her parents.

Friends may call from 11 A.M. on Monday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Due to the state regulation, only 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time, facemasks are required.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Bruner officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.

The family wishes any memorial donations be made to the Newberry United Methodist Church or Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Marjorie’s name.
